The Collective: Transformation, Time, Grief and Illumination

with Jeff Rogers
1

Jeff Rogers tells us a little about his childhood, growing up with activist parents during the civil rights movement, how it plays a role in his book and mission as an author, and transformation from time and grief.

How is grief transformational? Are we as a people in a state of grief and/or transformation? Does time really heal wounds if time is a construct? Jeff Rogers and Gina Duran discuss how the concept of time ties into Roger’s book, but also how it plays a role in society.

Rogers grew up in Michigan college towns but became an Angeleno in 1983. He moved to the San Bernardino Mountains in 2022 but still performs in LA frequently. His World Stage Press collection Right Wrong Night Song covers life, death, and everything in between—because poetry’s as big as the world, there’s nothing it can’t carry.
